Besides the metal bands from the 80s:
Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Eurythmics, U2, A-ha, Petshop boys and a lot others ^^

Music taste is a personal thing, but in all honesty today the situation is far worse. Everybody with synthetic boobs or protein saturated muscles is singing using voice mods to make him/her sound good (aka modified on the CD release). Once you hear them live though...the magic is gone 😛
