Try not to sound like yer gloating :p

My system while good enough to play most games on max or near max, is only a mid-range gaming PC as far as specs go. Put $1500 into it and let a geek friend do parts ordering and building. Mostly Newegg and his employee discount at Microcenter.

4800 Series Radeon HD 1 gig
6 gigs of RAM designed to work best with i7
i7 Quad 2.66 Ghz
ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard
Silencer power supply (told him i want performance and quietness)
1 TB internal storage
2x320 GB internal RAID start-up
Alternative CPU cooler.
24" Acer flatscreen

It's getting to the point with video projects where I could use 6 Gigs more RAM, and maybe a 2 gig card or another 1 gig for future games.

Nothing as fancy as Cresil's here. Just my little VAIO:

Vaio VGN FE-21M
Core Duo @1.66Ghz
2 GB RAM
160 GB HDD
Gerforce 7600 M with 128 video

It's too slow considering today's PCs, but for the 4 years I own it, hasn't been serviced even once 😀

Now in terms of things that have broken over the almost 4 years I've had it:

I know the quality sucks 😛

I don't think i can refrain from sounding like i'm gloating, but after reading the specs on this lean, sexy hunk of silicon, you'll understand 😀

glossy case with 16-pattern RGB LED ring around the bottom (lights up the desk around it), front has an 8-pattern flashing RGB LED matrix behind a piece of light-diffusing polycarbonate, and there is a custom-silkscreened furry mural on either side

synthetic FreOn refrigerated cooling (with a dehumidifier so the condensation doesn't fry my computy-box)

4X AMD Opteron 6174

4x NVIDIA tesla M2050

16GB DDR3-2133 SDRAM

built-in 2X PS2 controller port/2X SNES controller port/2X NES controller port/PS1&2 memory card slot (made by soldering the adapters to the board of a USB hub and replacing the plug with a header connector, then mounting them to a 5.25" bracket and dremeling holes into a drive bay cover and gluing the ports to it.)

generic s/pdif

2X SATA BD-R/-RE multi burner

6X 1TB SATA hard drive (5 of which are in a RAID 0 config, while the other is the system drive and therefore works best without raid)

2X 3.5" 2.88MB DS/ED floppy drive (which, believe it or not, i still use every day)

stone wool sound muffling case liner (and believe me, it needs it!)

see what i mean?
